What better time than summer to heat up your beauty look? From the beach to the barbecues, to a getaway with your girlfriends, this summer is all about having fun with your look and letting your inner glow shine.  So let’s clear our makeup bags of last year’s bronzer and waterproof mascara and start stocking up on some sizzling new products. Here is the lastest update on the fresh trends that we are dying to try this summer. Let’s get glowing!

Au natural. The no-makeup makeup look is taking over this summer, lucky us! Nearly nude faces and nails have been taking over the runways, lending the attention to the fashion. Off the runway? Let’s just call it a summer blessing. Dewy bronzed skin and and a pretty pout, in addition to sunscreen of course, are all this look requires. Hair is best suited when it’s sleek and healthy, and preferably straight. Nude nails look chic and clean, perfect to pair with this season’s bright colors and prints.

Go bold! While the rest of our summer look might be toned down, our lips and brows don’t have to be. Let lips take center stage with a bright, matte lip. A matte texture, versus glossy, gives just the right amount of punch without being too over the top. Brows are bold and fabulous this season, a la actress Lilly Collins.  A well groomed brow can frame your face, and a little eyebrow pencil and powder can go a long way. The one rule? Don’t overpluck!

This summer’s color story is all about pink and emerald. This season, take a cue from Barbie and steal her girly look. Flushed cheeks and lips are pretty, feminine, and versatile. Emerald is the Pantone color of the year, and has been popping up on runways for seasons in both couture and makeup looks. So why not give it a try?  A sweep of emerald eyeliner or nail polish can add a surprisingly chic pop of color to any ensemble. So which color will you try this season: Pink, emerald, or both?

Say goodbye to the tanning beds and harsh exfoliators. This year it’s all about beautiful skin, which means taking care of our skin. Retinol creams and serums are making a comeback with lighter, gentler formulas. It can obliterate breakouts, smooth wrinkles, and shrink pores without being harmful to your skin. No need for thick foundations and coverups. Instead, let your inner glow shine through with BB cream. The light moisturizing cream not only covers imperfections, but it’s packed with antioxidants and anti-aging elements to improve your skins texture and overall look with each use. Most importantly, don’t scrimp on the sunscreen. This summer healthy skin is far better than tanned skin, especially with the increasing percentage of acquiring skin cancer. Everyday use of sunscreen is a must, and with new airy formulas you won’t mind it. Make self tanning lotion your best friend. It will be our little secret.

Go Sheer! This trend is perfect for summer: easy, breezy, and fun. Whether it be sheer panels or a completely sheer dress (complete with the proper undergarments of course), this look works for everyone and adds a little sex appeal to your summer style.

Classic black and white never goes out of style, and this summer it’s staying on our radar. This trend proves that summer fashion doesn’t always mean wearing brights and metallics. Add a modern twist to a head-to-toe black and white ensemble with graphic prints and patterns.

Prints are everywhere this season. From shoes and accessories to swimwear, playful prints are the perfect way to express your summer style. Add a graphic print swim suit to your wardrobe for a little taste of the trend. If you’re feeling daring, rock pattern-on-pattern. Mixing prints is totally acceptable, when done correctly.Feel free to play with this trend, there are no rules this summer!

We know what you’re thinking, and yes we are serious. The overall trend is making a huge comeback, spotted on celebrities and fashion bloggers everywhere. With a pair of strappy sandals and lots of accessories, overalls can be surprisingly fun…and chic. Give this grade-school look a more mature spin by adding metallic accents.

The males weren’t that bad either; simple and clean suits were their signature to wear. By that we can now say that the Cannes Film Festival 2013 truthfully gave us a red carpet worthy event!

Cannes is always the most spectacular show of couture fashion, and we loved every minute of it!
